Second Annual E.L. ‘Ted’ Wheelwright Memorial Lecture
‘Beyond the Economic Crisis’ // Jim Stanford
Dr Jim Stanford, economist with the Canadian Auto Workers’ Union and author of ‘Economics for Everyone’, presented the second annual Wheelwright Lecture on 20 August, 2009.
Dr Stanford’s lecture analysed the lessons from the global financial crisis from a labour movement perspective. In particular, he considered how the economic system may be changed to make it more stable, equitable and sustainable. In turn, he also emphasised the importance of a critical economics pedagogy to social change movements.
A revised version of Dr Stanford’s lecture can be read here.
